I loved that I felt like I could contact the birthing center with all of my (many!) questions and concerns. My after care was also especially important to me. They gently offered suggestions, always asked permission before doing anything even heart rate monitoring, all of it was so perfect. They did not pressure me to do anything their way or rush me in any way. All of our previously agreed upon labor preferences were addressed, the staff whispered in the dark so I could labor peacefully without interruption or distraction. The midwives and nurses at Sacred Roots were so respectful during my labor it meant a lot to me. Plus, everyone else who labors there does the same so I had to assume I could too! I am so grateful for the people who were in the room with me during labor. Of all the time I spend over-thi nking, I could not have been more confident about giving birth with the midwives and nurses at SR. I knew choosing Sacred Roots meant that I was giving up the option for an epidural but I wasn’t scared. I wanted to make sure I felt safe and heard, I wanted my birth philosophy to be respected as much as possible, I wanted to bring my baby into the world in a peaceful environment, I wanted the people around me to be patient and kind.
